Our
Pledge to you
At Mid-County P.C. we strive
to offer our customers the best cost-to-benefit ratio with
all of our service offerings. This means we won't suggest
a repair or upgrades just to make a sale. In fact many times
we have suggested against repairing or upgrading
when we felt it was not a cost-effective solution. Additionally,
we never hide charges or add charges without the customer's
prior approval. And, whenever possible, we give customers
flat rate pricing so you know what it will cost before
you decide.
Computer
Service
Most desktop systems
we receive for repair require software cleanup or reconfiguration.
Since software is typically the most difficult type of problems
to troubleshoot and repair, we use the following method
to help our customers avoid costly repairs:
- During initial diagnosis (first
half hour). We perform an assessment of the quality of
software installed and the overall condition of the software
in general, to determine if there is a likely hood for
hidden problems that could be time-consuming to resolve
and thus costly for the customer. If we feel this is likely,
we will recommend our flat-fee P.C. Cleanup Package in
order fix all of the software problems at one time, eliminating
any hidden problems or charges.
- If after our assessment we do
not feel there are problems significant enough to recommend
the P.C. Cleanup Package, we will resolve the problems,
usually within a half hour to one hour.
Network Service
Our
approach to network design, installation and troubleshooting
is comprehensive. We want you to get the most use and reliability
at the best price. To accomplish this, we will:
- Perform a thorough assessment
of your existing computer hardware, operating system(s),
wiring (if any), peripherals, and Wide Area Network connections
including Internet or corporate infrastructure (if applicable).
- Present you with the best course
of action to achieve your goals without creating significant
new problems and while allowing for future expansion.
- Implement the actions you decide
on with minimal interruption to your daily workflow.
What to expect when you
bring your computer to us for service
- In-House Service minimum rate is
1/2 hour (1 hour for laptops) and rarely exceeds 1 hour
unless we are performing our P.C. Cleanup Package.
- We will not replace existing parts
or install new parts without prior approval from the customer.
- Whenever possible we will give
an estimate on labor or provide a flat-fee alternative.
- Although each job has it's own
unique circumstances, generally you will only need to
bring in the CPU (tower) itself. We do not need any cables
such as the power cable, or any peripherals such as the
mouse, keyboard etc., unless the system is a laptop, then
we will need the power cable. Additionally, we may require
original software or literature in some cases, so if you
have this readily available, it would be a good idea
to bring it as well.
- Completion time is usually 1 to
2 business days except for our P.C. Cleanup Package, which
generally takes 2 to 3 business days, but will vary based
on system performance and Operating System being installed.
What to expect when we
come out to service your system(s)
- On-Site Service minimum rate is
1 hour and includes travel time to and from your site.
- If we need to bring your system
back to our shop, or if we need to leave to get parts
or tools, you will not be charged additional travel time
(excluding special request for expedited service where
additional travel would not normally be needed).
- Whenever possible, we will give
an exact time of our arrival, however for urgent calls
we will attempt to arrive as soon as possible and therefore
may not be as accurate in estimating our arrival time.
- To provide service in the most
efficient manner, we will need a single point-of-contact,
readily available documentation for network settings (IP
addresses, ISP Account information etc.), and readily
available configuration information for any specialized,
or otherwise non-standard hardware or software.
- On more complex or specialized
systems, we may require an acclimation period in order
to avoid making changes that create problems in other
areas.
